If you stare at things, people, the sky, you're either an artist or you should be. When painting a portrait, for example, you have to look at the person/photo for about 8 seconds for every 2 seconds of painting.
Maybe it's just not growing out of amazement. A child might spend quite a lot of their time pointing at things and saying, Oooo! Look at that! But when you grow up, if you keep doing that, people are going to think you're daft. If you want a good reason to stare, try being a painter.
